About the Artist
Rebecca grew up in Jacksonville Florida. Drawing and a love for animals has always been a large part of her life. While refining her artistic skills, she was greatly inspired by anime and 90's Disney styled art. She attended college for visual media with interests in Traditional Visual Arts (with a focus on charcoal), Photoshop, and Tv Production. During college, Rebecca met the love of her life and spent 3 years nurturing a long distance relationship. After graduation, they married and she immigrated to Canada where she now resides in Calgary Alberta. Rebecca's husband encourages her artwork and indulges her love for animals with a dog and 2 cats.
About Creature at Heart
Creature at Heart, founded in 2015, is an imaginative series of chibi characters wearing animal onesies. Rebecca was drawing a picture for her close friend Joe (see the Goldfish) and liked it so much that she was inspired to then draw the Alligator. Rebecca quickly realized that, not only did the people think her "creatures" were cute, but she also really enjoyed drawing them! Thus, Creature at Heart was born. Rebecca strives to bring each Creature to life with its own personality and uniqueness. One of the ideals behind creature at heart is that there is a little animal in all of us. The animal onesies are a way of showing our internal animal on the outside. By drawing a large variety of animals, Rebecca hopes that you can find your very own Creature that you can relate to and love.
Fun Fact
Creature at Heart's Mascot, Xoe, was designed after the artist herself and the onesie she is wearing was designed after Rebecca's beloved dog, Cody!
